Weddings, Graduations, Birthdays and .... the FAMILY REUNION!

Trish and Chad are working on planning some activities and events which they can coordinate better when they know who is coming and on what days. As you may know the reunion is being held on Gabriola Island just a short ferry ride away from Nanaimo, BC which is on Vancouver Island.

We want to ensure that everyone has lots of planning time and information so thought it would be good to share some of the following information. 

BC Ferry approaching Departure Bay, Nanaimo, BC

1. If you are travelling from the mainland you have two BC Ferry options, travelling from Tsawwassen to Duke Point or from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay. From Nanaimo you can then catch the Gabriola Island ferry from the downtown area. Links are included for your convenience with travel times and fare rates.
2. While on Gabriola Island at the resort you can stay in a cabin or campsite or if you have arrived by boat you can book a slip in the marina.
3. Do note the following: There are a total of 6 cabins. 2 of the cabins have 2 bedrooms and a pullout couch - sleep 6. 4 of the cabins have 1 bedroom and a pullout couch and sleep 4. Please click on the link to get rates and more information. Note: 1 of the 2 bedrooms and 1 of the 1 bedrooms have been booked. You can book your cabin or campsite and there is a 14 day cancellation requirement, so why wait? Make the booking, hold your spot and if you can't make it closer to the time, cancel the booking. Make sure you say you are there for the Giesbrecht Family Reunion!
4. Cabins are outfitted with a full stove/oven, all kitchen/cooking ware and bedding. All you have to bring is your clothes and food (and beverages!) There is a grocery store on the island or you can pick up your food before you leave Nanaimo. There are several restaurants a short drive away and a pub/restaurant next door to the resort. Gabriola is a beautiful island that you can drive or boat around and enjoy the gorgeous BC scenery.

5. Want to explore? There are many opportunities to do so or just sit back and relax - this is YOUR vacation!
