Welcome to the Giesbrecht Family Reunion!

Chad Giesbrecht (son of Klaas Giesbrecht) and Trish Giesbrecht Baird (daughter of Peter Giesbrecht) are both currently working on the 2015 family reunion. They are in the initial planning stages but in order to proceed or move forward they need this information shared with as many family members as possible.

They have tentatively booked Pages Resort and Marina on Gabriola Island, BC - just off of Nanaimo, BC for the event. There are camp sites or cabins available. If you think you will be attending and need a site or cabin please advise them as soon as possible to hold the appropriate number of spaces. Note: Space can always be cancelled, up to the allowable time offered by the resort but if they get booked by other guests, you may miss out! EACH FAMILY MUST MAKE THEIR OWN RESERVATIONS but do indicate it is for the Giesbrecht Family Reunion. Thank you!
The family hails from the Abram Giesbrecht and Justina Peters family of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The children from this family include: Klaas, Agnes, Eva , Bill, Dave , Abe , Annie and Peter Giesbrecht

Abram and Justina were married and lived in Saskatchewan for many years before moving to Alberta and the children lived across Alberta and British Columbia.
The remaining children in the family are Agnes, Abe, Eva and Peter. They are pre-deceased by their parents Abram and Justina and siblings, Klaas, Annie, Bill and Dave.
The last reunion was in the summer of 2007 in Picture Butte, Alberta, at which time we celebrated with an early 90th birthday for Grandma Justina Giesbrecht. It was wonderful to have so many family members together, including the

immediate family listed above as well as some of Abe and Justina's family relations. We invite as many as would like to join us for an island summer reunion in 2015.

Most recently the family joined together to celebrate the life of the eldest child, Klaas Giesbrecht who passed away on October 13, 2014. At that time we all realized how much we care about and miss each other and how we want to remain connected and strong as a family. As part of that committment, Chad and Trish decided to head a committee to plan a reunion, however, for the first time, the reunion would be held on the West Coast in British Columbia. Up until now there have been family reunions in Alberta and Saskatchewan, but they thought it would be fun to invite the prairie folk to enjoy life on the ocean for a few days.

Chad and Trish are putting together some sight seeing opportunities, information about the area, family fun and much more! Please help them with this task by letting them know how many people to expect (even if that is tentative at the moment), when you will arrive/leave and however else they can help you in your planning.
