Winter weather makes me dream of summer!

Sarah's house Feb. 2015 Storm #3
Here we are, in the latter half of February and I watch as coast to coast the weather is reported. In the Maritimes we are still shoveling out of record snow falls, 4 storms in 2 weeks and 3-7 feet of snow in the dooryard depending on where you live. Fortunately the last two have not hit me as hard in New Brunswick as some of the coastal areas, but the winds and cold, BRRR! I am looking forward to warmer weather!

Of course my friends, relatives and my daughter are all only too happy to tell me about the weather in BC and parts of Southern Alberta that is hitting the low to mid teens in temperature as I battle with -20 to -30C. OK I know those of you in Northern Alberta feel my pain! However, as we shovel out and bundle up and I listen to people tell me about weeding the garden and mowing the lawn and walking on the beach, I will admit, this does not bring my most charitable thoughts to mind! I don't begrudge it though, life is good to me here (albeit freaking cold!)

So, mid February means we are getting closer to the family reunion time. Chad tells me that the resort is booking up and that camping and cabin space need to get reserved ASAP. Remember, if you THINK you are coming, please reserve your spot, you can always cancel it with 14 days notice. It is better to "Be Prepared" as the Brownies and Boy Scouts say, then to get caught in the cold without any options. (As of this minute there is only 1 cabin left for the weekend of the 29th - but the days before/after there is flexibility - so depending on the dates of travel there may still be options. AND there are still lots of campsites available!)

Chad recently posted this great video of  a pod of Orcas (Killer Whales) that he saw off the coast of the island - check it out. He also has several videos on YouTube under the name "A Fine Looking Gentleman" and you can see more of the beauty of the area.

Have questions, concerns or ideas? Contact Trish or Chad as the event coordinators. I have to say right now, late August BC weather is incredibly appealing to me! Well, time to put more wood in the fire, put on my heavy clothes and start my day!

Reunions - time to make memories - pictures of Angie - then and now! Remember the resort IS pet and kid friendly! AND YES Angie has her cabin booked! See you there!

Have a great day everyone!
